Éire Óg Inis St. Stephen’s Day Tournament sponsored by Sherry FitzGerald McMahon - 26th December 2025
We are close to wrapping up a fantastic year of sport in Éire Óg which culminated in bringing both the Jack Daly and Canon Hamilton trophies back to the club in one year! As well as that our senior ladies LGFA team consolidated their senior status in emphatic fashion while our intermediate camogie team went out at the semi-final stage to an excellent Clooney-Quin team. That is not to mention the excellent work being conducted in our various underage groups.
As we turn the corner into December and write our letters to Santa, our minds turn to the annual Éire Óg St. Stephen’s Day tournament. This year our annual tournament is again being sponsored by our great partners, Sherry FitzGerald McMahon.

Our 2025 annual St. Stephen’s Day tournament is being held in memory of club members -Dylan White and Olivia Tuohy, who sadly passed away this year. Both were active participants of the tournament in the past. All monies raised will be divided between Brain Tumour Ireland and the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust.
Regarding our Stephen’s Day Tournament, we are looking to all current and former adult players (both men and women) to sign up with a team from the list below -
- Gallow’s Hill/Turnpike (our reigning champions again) – (led by Philly Walsh & Elizabeth Russell)
- Gort Road (our current shield winners) (led by Liam Corry & Eva White)
- Shanaway Road – (led by Brian Cooney & Sarah Redmond)
- Lahinch Road (led by Colin Reidy & Edel Malone)
- Kilrush Road (led by Kevin Brennan & Aimee Lyne)
- Flannan’s Road (led by David McNamara & Amelie Malice)
- Tulla Road (led by Dean D’Auria)
- Clare Road (led by James McSweeney & Orla Devitt)
The tournament is open to all current and former female and male adult players plus any girls graduating from our U16 team and any boys coming out of the minor/U17 grade this year plus we are hoping our successful “Gaelic4Mothers&Others” group will partake too. The format and rules will be like last year with all games played on the day and culminating in a cup and shield final before a packed crowd.
Our new coffee dock, the Clonroad Brew, run by none other than club stalwart, Kevin Moynihan, and his better half, Claire, will be open all day. So, sign up for your local team, skip the sales, and join the activities down on the Clonroad on Stephen’s Day. More details to follow in the next few weeks.
